HOW TO LEARN PIANO THE EASIEST WAY USING CHORDS
How to Play Piano The Easiest Way
I am a Self-taught Musician.I learned piano by myself.
I still remembered how i practiced my piano using chords only in 2005.I used Miles Keyboard which cost $40(Php.2000.00) only.
Learning piano instrument was so tough then.I also experienced that i went to my neighbor's house just to learn piano. It's a shame though but i said to myself that i really need to do it because i want to learn this instrument.i also walked for miles and miles just to reached the Christian Church where there was a good piano in there. What a
funny moments to remember.
Piano is my second instrument but it's my First Love.I never realized that my father also really wanted to learn and play piano before when he was still a child but since piano was so expensive before and his parents can't afford to send them to school,so he just dreamed about it.And then he saw me my interest in the love of music when i was 12 years old and (now i'm 30 years old now).He was the motivator of who i am today.
Basically,i learned piano by chords before wayback in 2006.I'm already contented when i can play the Basic Chords in C,D,G,F.:) I have this mindset in my head that in order for me to learn the basics,i have to learn the 7 Basic Chords and 7 Minor Chords.
So here's what i do.I just played the root position of chords.I read the Piano chord Chart only as my Guide.
I just integrated my Guitar learning in my piano chords.lol. Since piano and guitar have the same chords pattern,i just apply it immediately when i have the interest in the songs that i'll gonna play.I learned so many songs in Liturgical music, love songs,Alternative Music and Few of Classical Music.
If you already know the chords in guitar, then you can try it in piano too.Playing 7 major and 7 minor chords are the most basic chords that you'll gonna play.Playing notes on the piano ,and reading of notes will be learned later as you progress in your playing skills.
There are just 2 colors in piano. The WHITE KEYS and BLACK KEYS.
If you're using a piano keyboard that has 5 octaves, you can start in the Middle C(C3) in playing chord intervals as your guide in your right hand.In your left hand, you need to start in (C2)second octave.
CHORD COMPOSITIONS
In playing for Minor Chords,i'll teach you the easiest technique on how to play it.
You just have to move your second finger in playing for the minor key.If your second finger is playing the white key, then you have to raise it 1 step higher to make it Minor. And if the second finger is on the black key, then you have to lower it 1 step key.It is also represented as small "m"
C MAJOR----C E G Cm----C Eb-G
My son has been taking a different approach. He recently started. He watched Youtube videos of keys animated to classical pieces. His first piece is a relatively easy Chopin work. It's bass chords with chromatic progressions and a mainly chordless treble. I'm surprised at how well he is doing. I tried to encourage him to start with easier pieces, but this seems to have been unnecessary. He already knows chords and music reading from playing cello. If his hands were larger, I'd have a concert pianist! ;-)
Thanks a very good thing to hear.Congratulations in your son's achievement. He can play whatever he likes and loves to play.Just motivate him to play piano in different genres and continue to have passion in playing music it may be by ear or by notes. He can start from easy pieces to a complex pieces.:)Tell him to keep on reading scales and other music books too!
To him, the different genres include Baroque, Classical, Romantic... Your advice is well taken. Mine never is, but that's part of the price you pay to be a father. ;-)
