Prince Purple Rain

Released June 25, 1984, Purple Rain was the album of songs Prince wrote for his movie of the same name. The movie was not great, but the album is a masterpiece. The title song is great, and is not even close to being the best song on the record. When Doves Cry might just be the best pop song ever recorded. Darling Nikki is as dirty as it is fun. All the songs are pretty good, and the album as a whole is fun.
