The rock band will be honoured with Sweden's Polar Prize, and are giving the prize money to charity.
I have never personally heard of the Polar Prize, so calling it the Nobel of music miiiiiight be a stretch, but congratulations to the band.
Love or hate their music, they have had a profound impact on the music industry, and the music sharing community in other ways, over the years.
They're the first metal band to win - strange seeing as metal is hugely popular in Sweden?
