Funkitecht - Sludge (FREE 2 USE)

Sludge was the first track written for this Funkitecht project (Free to share). The sample was of a beat box sample and a heavily edited guitar line to sound like a synthesizer.

The bass uses a triplet slap technique to help give an urgency to the track and with the bridge being a blues scale running from the octave down to the root utilizing chromatic passing notes.

I also recorded at the time an organ on a 009 Yamaha Electone F-5 Organ With Bench (note that the picture in this post is not the one I used but is the same as the one I own). This can be heard also in the chromatic run alongside the lead line near the end of the track.

The main lead line is actually a mistake that got warped and turned out better than the original lead line I had which goes to show happy accidents do exist!

The track is groove based and I always felt it was similar to a track by No Doubt (at least in part) Hella Good, but I will leave that to your discretion!
