I think the story of Kurt's downfall and ultimately death is one of the most tragic in rock biographies. Long ago, somewhere I have read that Kurt said that nirvana for him means freedom from suffering, pain, and the external world, and that's pretty close to his Punk Rock definition. Nice words, but he ended badly...or maybe now he is finally really free from everything...
