Happy Birthday, Mark Knopfler
Dear @mark-knopfler, I wish you all the best for your birthday.
You are the best and I admire you and your work. Your music gave me much joy and pleasure over the years. I always get goosebumps when I hear the first chords of Tunnel Of Love. Exceptional.
Dire Straits are the best band ever and you are the best rock musician ever. You've always been number one on my list.
Your broad smile and your nonchalant way of picking the strings are eternal.
I've had all your albums and I've listened to them all the time. Yes, on a record player.
If I have to pick the best album from the rest of the best then it would be Making Movies. All songs on this record are simply breathtaking.
Dear Mark, thank you again. You are my hero. Have a great birthday celebration and please give us some more of your magic.
Yours forever fan,
Ervin
Ps: Mark, you are such a cool guy that you are tagged @ Steemit even before you are a member of this great community. Isn't this just great?
Pps: I didn't know that your father's name was Erwin. I really didn't, I swear. What a coincidence.

Have you noticed the recent censorship of "Money For Nothing"? The funny thing is, the lyrics of the song are in character for a blue-collar fellow: cursing someone (outside of the trades) for having it really good and then segueing into "Lordy, I wish I were him."
No, I didn't . Thanks for mentioning it. I will check it out.
It might be a parody? :)
I wouldn't call it a parody: it's good-humored. The closest that it gets to parody is its irony. But it is easy to peg as parody, which is why the inclusion of a certain now-verboten word was largely shrugged off when it was released. The video for it is was as much a mainstay on MTV as "Video Killed The Radio Star"
Here it is, if you dare :)
Primitive CGI, neon effects everywhere... classic '80s.
