Classical Piano Music for You Nunley's Carousel
I submit to you some classical piano music for your listening pleasure. Take a moment and listen to Waltz No 1 Nunley's Carousel. This is a little known piece by a rocker who entertained the world with hits like Allentown and We Didn't Start the Fire. Toward the end of Billy Joel's career, the piano man cam out with an album of compositions called 'Fantasies and Delusions'. The cover mimicked the old G. Schirmer publications of advanced piano studies one would take at a college or music conservatory. Yet there is some wonderful music here for the classical lover.
There was a Nunley's Carousel and Amusement Park that existed in Brooklyn, New York from 1912 - 1939. it later moved to Baldwin, New York where is thrived from 1940 - 1995. The carousel is now displayed on Museum Row in Garden City. The music brings the carousel back to life and I believe you ca find yourself back in Brooklyn and Baldwin.
Enjoy this 2001 performance of this music by pianist and long time friend of his, Richard Joo.

I tried tagging a jazz selection by Charlie Parker today to steemradio. Did I do it properly?
That G. Schirmer cover really takes me back!
I completely agree. Mom was and still is a piano/voice teacher so I grew up with them and used them myself. I completely get it. Thanks for the reply and mentioning a fond memory.
I've always liked Billy Joel
He was my role model as a teenager. As a piano man I once tried to pattern myself by him. Later I learned to be me rather than mimicking someone else. I still earn my living playing music but am myself today. Thanks for the reply. Best wishes to you.

Hi, Thank you for helping to build the classical music ecosystem here on steemit. We enjoyed listening to the youtube embed and reading your descriptive text about Billy Joel and a brief tour of the history behind the carousel. You're right that this is not a well-known work, but it really demonstrates Joel's versatility.
