As soon of you may know, I am currently studying Creative Music Technology at University. This post is simply to showcase an assignment that I have just finished for the Music for Moving Image module. I Hope you like it and encourage critical feedback.
It's probably worth mentioning that I did Not create any of the visual content, I simply arranged and composed the Music and sound effects.
To achieve such a dynamic array of sound effects I had to move towards many different sources of which a few I will explain to you.
In order to recreate the sound of moving machinery I actually used the recordings of a power drill and pitched them down by one octave.
Near the end of the video in order to create the atmosphere, I found an audio recording of an Ultrasound on a pregnant woman. I then pitched this down by one octave and also applied a low pass filter to the channel.
Other somewhat unconventional sounds that were used in this composition are that of scurrying insects, an old car engine (pitched down) and the sound of an expanding camera lens.
Try to see if you can recognize any of these sounds in the video above.
Thank you for checking my post, and if this is the kind of thing that you like to see on Steemit then let me know and I'll be sure to post more as and when I make them.
