Finger Picking (With Audio)
It sounds so good.
Don't get me wrong, strumming is okay (I wouldn't be able to play a song live without it!) But finger picking on an acoustic guitar sounds so sweet. You get a much warmer tone & it unlocks a whole host of different patterns that you can play.
I know a lot of guitarists who avoid it at all costs but I think they're missing out. I suppose it's a little more difficult but I started out playing bass guitar without a plectrum & don't find it too bad.
Here's what I did to practice this evening:
Maybe if I keep at it I'll be able to pick & play at the same time!

You should try doing open mic - you probably won't have to paywhale to reach $20 that way haha.

I like the finger picking! Definitely more interesting than strumming, even if it's harder to sing along with :)
Awesome stuff Elliot. It's awesome that you play guitar so well! Do you play any electric? I used to play a lot of all genres back in high-school!
