if there is one act out there that is kult, underground and mysterious, it is GGFH

Global Genocide Forget Heaven

GGFH is a dark electronic & industrial project by

  • Ghost (aka Michael Geist) - vocals, electronics, sampling, vocal treatments, programming
  • Brian J. Walls - guitar, synthsm programming, electronics, vocal treatments

With their signature sound and dark themes they shocked the music scene in the late eightees and early ninetees.

Their music is soaked with theme’s about

  • drug abuse
  • rape
  • sex
  • murder
  • genocide
  • revenge
  • pedophelia
  • satanism
  • serial killers
  • religion
  • death
  • paranoia

GOAT GUYS FROM HELL

In the eightees they started off as Goat Guys From Hell, and released seven cassettes out into the world.

Tape Trading was a huge thing in the underground scene those days, and so these Goat Guys From Hell caught the attention of the good people at the British Peaceville label. Peaceville started in the eightees as a cassette only label focussing on crustpunk and doom.

Peaceville started two Sister labels 'Deaf' and 'Dreamtime' these sisters concentrated more on thrash metal (Deaf) and psychedelic electronica (Dreamtime).

GGFH was one of the 1st acts signed that signed with Dreamtime,

1991

Eclipse was released in 1991 and this was the first official album for for both GGFH and the label.

The album received critical acclaim and some great reviews, in the meantime the band toured europe on a club tour with fear factory

GGFH shows were memorable for the TVs on the stage with flickering images of war, porn and autopsy footage. Vocalist Ghost would have a bucket of fake blood which he would dip a Little Missy doll into and then flick around the front of the stage onto the audience.

1993

Disease was the 2nd full length album, here the band take a more techno approach, pushing aside the sludgier sound of their earlier material. The album features three of the tracks recorded for the Reality EP, (Room 213, Dead Men Don’t Rape, Real), in a slightly different form.

Also, in 1993 Dreamtime releases the Head Your Mind sampler, a $7 label compilation cd which features several tracks by GGFH, Tekton Motor Corp, Ship Of Fools, Kong and other Dreamtime acts.

This compilation has some great tracks on it. (This is actually one of my favorite compilations ever!) so have a listen, you will NOT REGRET!

Around 1993 the band was supposed to tour with My Dying Bride, for the tour if their 2nd album Disease, but Ghost was arrested at the airport for carrying illegal goods in his luggage, namely various stage props.

1994

In 1994 Halloween was released, Halloween was a ‘CD only’ compilation of tracks that were earlier only available on cassette, also called Halloween, that was limited to 1000 copies. All these tracks come from G.G.F.H.’s first six demo cassettes (recorded between 1986 and 1989).

Halloween was released after fans that had missed the original cassette version demanded to hear it.

The song Night Prowler is an industrialised remix of a song by AC/DC.

2001

The dream of Dreamtime is over and peaceville took over. The Very Beast Of G.G.F.H. Vol. 1 is a CD only compilation of tracks from their back catalogue, and a new track as a teaser for a new album. Both Volume 2 and the new album, never saw the light of day with peaceville.

The nicest part of The Very Beast Of G.G.F.H. Vol. 1 is that the disc included the official video for ‘real’ which was banned from MTV for it’s disturbing content.

2005

In 1998 the record deal with peaceville/dreamtime ended, BJ Walls has left the band to focus on more interesting endeavors, rumor has it that it has something to do with the internet and cryptography.

Their official website has not been online for some time now, but in the early 00’s it had some very interesting features about crypto anarchy, and killing your digital self

after a couple of years of DJing & soul searching Ghost self released ‘Serrated Smile’, a new GGFH album in 2005.

Serrated Smile was only available as a self released, signed & numbered collectors edition CDR.

After this, they did a nakamoto & communications went dark ...

I did read a message on the forum that ghost had to sell all his equipment and stopped his music making. Other rumor says he is dead or living on the street, meanwhile others think they are very much alive

But no one knows
