Artificial Intelligence (AI) Becoming Real Humans :: Quality Music Compositions Reality
Artificial Intelligence is a hot topic today on all fronts: from Hollywood movies to Legal debates to Politicians taking early steps to discuss the future of societies with Robots taken away large amount of jobs.
I believe Artificial Intelligence (AI) will become very powerful and will be able to act like a human at one point in time. I even believe the time required for AI to be on par with humans is rather close by (20 to 30 years), then further away (next century). On a lot of fronts, the market is exploring the capabilities of AI and we all know the initiatives of Microsoft with their bot Tay. Although it failed, it shows the potential of AI to replace humans in areas we would not be able to imagine 10 years ago.
From 2010 onwards the university of Malaga (Spain) experimented with computer generated music, creating unique pieces of music based on its own style (previously David Cope created computer generated music, but this was based on emulation of existing styles). In 2010 the first fragment was released, followed by a entire composition a year later (Opus one). In 2012 (Alan Turing 100 year celebration) four of Iamus (the name of the AI composer) compositions were broadcast and later recorded by the London Symphony Orchestra and released as an album "Iamus".
- Tránsitos. I. Rumor de espejos by London Symohony Orchestra (here)
- Tránsitos II. - Iamus Computer by London Symohony Orchestra (here)
A couple of months earlier Gustavo Díaz-Jerez and Sviatoslav Belonogov recorded already an Iamus composition

Listing to the links above, one can not argue anymore AI is not able to create human emotional compositions, and therefore AI is geared to replace humans in creative processes.

In the mean time, a lot of other companies are creating music composer AI algorithms, with one of the large ones being Sony "Flow Machine". In 2016 Sony created several songs with AI creating the rhythms and melodies and humans finally polished the tracks:
- Daddy's Car by Flowmachine (Beatles inspired) (here)
- Mr Shadow by Flowmachine (Amercian Songwriter style) (here)
Earlier in 2016, Ji-Sung Kim (a 20 year old student) created a AI music creator for Jazz compositions based on Google Deep Dream. Several music pieces can be found on Souncloud under artist name "Deepjazz".

I hope you enjoyed reading this post. Maybe you even got inspiration to further research the topic of AI in creative process. I for sure will do and from time to time plan to share my research results with you here on Steemit.

"Aliens replaced by robots " haha !
Beethoven, wasn't he like a bot anyways?
Who can write music without hearing it ? Classic compositions feel like structured mathematical , strict order of notes. Robotic music 🎶
Does this make sense?
I always imagined that the so called " human genius" is a robot sent by aliens .
or maybe it is God ?
Great technology...... Could Terminator be next???? :-0
Thanks for your read and comment.
Could the next Prime Minister of Netherlands be next? Or replacement of President Trump? LOL
Maybe AI is the answer! Maybe it will clear out all of the corruption! ☆☆☆☆☆😈
Let's aim for AI to do exactly that! :)
👍👍👍👍👍😎
