Mord’A’Stigmata „Dreams of Quiet Places”

If you want to know how Mord'A'Stigmata defines his style in 2019, you just have to reach for "Dreams of Quiet Places". A stream of flattering words about the boys has already been poured out in the pages of Chaos, and it's not because we get a greasy transfer to our account every month. Their work simply amazes us a lot in the editorial office. And I am delighted with "Dreams of Quiet Places". And now I will try to explain why it is so. "Hope" was a great album, redefining the way Mord'A'Stigmata follows in the EP. "Dreams of Quiet Places" is a continuation of this style. A style that escapes unambiguous pigeonholing. A style that used to be black metal a long time ago, but it has transformed into a character almost completely unlike it. On the latest release we have a lot of calm moments. Musically calm, but disturbing, difficult, demanding. I get a great pleasure from communing with this music, but it is a difficult art. We have to analyze it, try to understand it, look for the second bottom, and then the next and next bottom... There is also nothing to consider this album in the category of individual pieces. It's a whole and let's treat it like this. Now maybe the most important difference compared to "Hope". Conceptually and stylistically these are albums on a similar level, but "Dreams of Quiet Places" has something that "Hope" didn't have. It's absolutely crushing electronics. The guys allowed themselves much, much more in this matter. Much more than ever before... Just play "Spirit Into Cristal" or the title track "Dreams Of Quiet Places". These motifs tear the fillings out of your teeth. This is the perfect complement to this music. In my opinion it fits Mord'A'Stigmata's style just perfectly. I hope that on the next releases they will go this way even harder.
