METALLICA: SOME CURIOSITIES
1.- Metallica "borrowed" (forever) the name of the band of Ron Quintana, who planned to christen "Metallica" to the fanzine he intended to produce. Quintana had to change the name of the publication by "Metal Mania" I do not have another.
2. The songs "The god that failed" and "Until it sleeps" are dedicated to the mother and father, respectively, of James Hetfield, as both died of cancer.
3. Bassist of the band Primus, Les Clypool, auditioned to occupy the position of Cliff Burton when this one died.
4. The skull ring James used belonged to the late Cliff Burton.
5. Before choosing his name, Metallica thought of several more. Some examples are: Red Vette, Grinder and Blizter.
6. When Jason joined the band, he had to eat Wasabi, which produces a spicy effect.
7.- Jazz player Dexter Gordon is Lars Ulrich's godfather.
8.- The character of H.P Lovecraft, Ktullu, inspired them to make the song "Call of Ktullu".
9. James worked as a janitor in a school.
10.- Lars Ulrich is Danish, and came to the United States with the intention of becoming a professional tennis player.
11.- Kirk is considered as the number 11 guitarist in history according to Rolling Stone magazine.
12.- "Tommy's Joint" is the name of the band's favorite bar in San Francisco. It was there that Jason Newsted received the proposal to join the group.
13. Doris is the name that the members gave to the statue of justice that appears on the cover of "... And justice for all", its fourth material of study.
