"Smells Like Teen Spirit" received high rotation on MTV and reached number 6 in the Top 100 of Billboard magazine.
For January 11, 1992 with 12 million copies sold, the album reached the top of the list of Billboard albums, displacing the first place to Michael Jackson's Dangerous and also surpassing Use Your Illusion of "Guns N 'Roses"
For the year 1993, the album In Utero came out. With In Utero, the band also faced censorship with this, some big chain stores like Kmart and Wal-Mart refused to have the album on their shelves. Then the band agreed to change the art of the album, launching a "clean" version.
Throughout his life, Kurt struggled with severe depression coupled with chronic bronchitis and intense physical pain due to a chronic stomach condition that was never diagnosed, which for years sought the cause and emotionally affected him.
