in #music6 years ago

I found this fun idea on the blog of @kiwideb, originally the idea of @jokossita. Here is the full list, if you'd like to accept the challenge as well:

Day 18 - A song you love but rarely listen to.
Day 19 - The first song alphabetically on your iPod/iTunes.
Day 20 - The last song alphabetically on your iPod/iTunes.
Day 21 - Your favorite song.
Day 22 - A song that someone has sung to you.
Day 23 - A song that you cannot stand to listen to.
Day 24 - A song that you have danced to with your best friend.
Day 25 - A song that you could listen to all day without getting tired of.

For Day 1, I have chosen the them from the television show, "Taxi". The actual name of this famous Bob James track is "Angela". This instrumental piece encapsulates the leftover 1970s vibe that I can remember as a very young child in the early eighties. I would hear this song at night, as my parents turned on the (remoteless, click knob) TV when I was going to bed. What a perfect lullaby. :)

Sort:

Day 01- A song from your childhood: Grandmaster Flash, Melle Mel and the Furious Five, The Message. I remember hearing this for the first time from a friend's older brother's boombox, and being mesmerized. I stopped shooting baskets in our game of 'horse' and just sat down and listened.

That is such an excellent song. I hear so much bad rap now, but that absolutely had it. Rap, but also so funky.

You didn't realize how much you would relate to some of these lyrics later in life.

Ah, St. Louis. "It's like a jungle sometimes... except when it's like the tundra."

Ah, that was a great program!
