Calella Rockfest challenge: hiring a band with Steemit Upvotes. Post#1 "Hospitality Riders"
I'm gonna start with one of the funniest and annoying things when you host a festival: Hospitality Riders.
What is a hospitality rider? It is a list on what the artist want to have at the arrival at the backstage ready for the soundcheck.
Let's see an average Hospitality Rider:
1 Case of Water
1 Case of Lo Carb Monster (blue)
1 Case Heineken Beer
1 750ml Bottle of Jack Daniels
1 2-Liter Bottle of Diet Coke
1 Bucket of Ice
4 Warm meals served after soundchek.
10 Hand Towels
1 Veggie Tray
6 Apples
6 Bananas
This Hospitality Rider is for a power trio, so three people. Let's add the road manager. So 4 people.
Three fruits per person. Really healthy!
And 1 Veggie Tray: they're so healthy!
Four warm meals: depending on the meal... it won't be as healthy as the veggie and fruits but good enough.
Let's see the drinks:
1 case of water: let's consider a case of "only" 12 bottles of 33cl.
1 Case of Lo Carb Monster (blue): 12 more bottles of 33cl.
1 2-Liter Bottle of Diet Coke
So, 10 liters of non-hard-alcoholic drinks (2,5 liters per person)
1 Case Heineken Beer: 12 more bottles of 33cl.
Well, I understand, it's a rock band, and must be beer. Hope that don't drink the 3 beers after drinking 2,5 liters of non-alcoholic drinks.
1 750ml Bottle of Jack Daniels.
You know, what is a rock band without Jack Daniels? A sober rock band...
A bad joke, I know, but if after drinking 2,5 litres of non-alcoholic drinks per person (1 liter of Monster among them), plus a liter of beers, and they also share the Jack Daniels bottle so about 0,20cl of Jack Daniels per person, do you think they can go to stage and play a show? Well, actually Ozzy Osbourne can do anything, but they weren't Ozzy!
Of course they won't drink all the stuff before the show, some of the stuff is for an aftershow party, but anyway, this is just an average Hospitality Rider. And after seeing dozens of Hospitality Riders, I can say that this band's Hospitality Rider wasn't a huge one.
As I said, this one is an average one, so expect crazy things when I talk about Hospitality Riders from major artists. But it will be in future posts.
