Hi Dear Steemians

These days I had the opportunity to meet two members of the ethnic Sikuani better known as Jivi, Jiwi or Guahibo of the Venezuelan Amazon, two musicians representing the community moved to the state Táchira Antonio Caribán "Yakueto" and his son William, for Chance came to find some information backs and they had the gesture of organizing a musical exhibition and forum in which they explained their traditions, instruments, way of life, among other characteristics of his family, it has been an excellent opportunity to connect with the culture of my ancestors and to know the music of the Peoples ¨Jivi "which in Spanish means "people ". I will bring you more details of the forum in my next post.

Yakueto is the man who touches the Horn of venison, is accompanied by Williams his son to the left and two folkloric researchers Dany Torres Venezuelan and Colombian Hector Parra

Among the traditions of the community is to make instruments for their celebrations, this is part of the folklore material of Venezuela, this time I present the "horns of venison" is a aerophone instrument that emits a single note depending on the size of the Cacho, explained that there are 3 types of deer horns the "Baby Mataeto" "Baby Suitel" and "Baby Casana" depends on the size of the horns, the smallest is the "baby Mataeto" the size of the horns that man, Since it represents his manhood and his strength as a warrior the bigger the deer, the better considered is the man as a marryer and supplier, the Horns bind them manually with beeswax and create is aerophone instrument.

This instrument is played in celebrations to reconcile between the conflicts of the men, tells Yakueto that one of them starts to touch this instrument and at the other extreme can be the person with whom it has had some type of conflict, they begin to touch and they go uni Endo to stick with the horns, as if they were deer at the same time they are playing and this is their way of draining the feelings and arguing, without hurting, ended the moment of the clash are given a hug and so they reconcile their enmity, unbelievable truth? Well I had no chance to see it but I hope at some point to travel to Amazonas to enjoy these rituals and do a more thorough folkloric research.
