It's the 6th episode of HALF HOUR SONGWRITE CHALLENGE! 💛

I couldn't stop thinking about the prompt, so ended up writing most of the lyrics and melody during the day today, in my head, at work, while sanding and staining windows. So this isn't strictly a half hour songwrite. Nevertheless it feels pretty skin-of-the-teeth, so I think it fits.

This ended up being a really fun prompt to work with! Candy is a ubiquitous theme in pop songs, and I couldn't seem to get away from the usual slant when trying to think of what to write, so rather than fight it I decided to try to make it my own.

Also, my son and two of his friends are having a sleepover tonight, and they did a bit of heckling while I was working on this installment, just to make things extra interesting 😜

Although CANDY is pretty close to a finished song, the other songs I've written and posted so far this week are not. On Sunday I'll be finishing one song from this week's Half Hour Songwrite Challenge, and posting the completed version. But on SATURDAY you, the viewers, get to decide which one! Saturday's video will feature numbered clips of each of the song fragments composed this week, and you get to vote for the one you'd most like to see made into a finished song.
