Hedley is a Canadian pop-rock band originating from British Columbia. If you’re Canadian, you’re probably familiar with this band, if you’re not Canadian, now you know! So lets get into this. Hedley is no longer being considered for three Juno Awards at this years event. If you’re not Canadian, the Junos are the Canadian music awards. Why you make ask? Well, sexual-misconduct allegations of course! The claims are being circulated anonymously on social media.

Despite being blacklisted from radio stations (such as CBC), the band is going to continue on their tour. The band had released a statement saying that the accusations are “unsubstantiated” but did say that they “engaged in a lifestyle that incorporated certain rock ‘n’ roll cliches.” Two openers on their tour, Neon Dreams and Shawn Hook dropped out from this tour.

Things aren’t super clear right now. But it seems like all of the parties are taking the appropriate steps involved. Clearly, no group or organization wants to be effected by these allegations, such as the Junos, or even these opening bands! Should the band be blacklisted? It’s clearly up to the people doing the blacklisting, so if they think that’s the necessary step to take, so be it. Should the band still tour? They can do whatever they want! If fans still want to pay to see them, then they can do that. There are other people relying on this band for income. However, they really need to sort these allegations out, whether they did or didn’t do it. But that’s just my opinion, what’s yours?
