Sting - Bring On the Night (Live Album: New Wave - Rock - Jazz)
Bring On the Night - 1986
On this occasion I recommend, this wonderful live album by Sting. Leader of the great British band "The Police". This is one of my favorite Sting records as a soloist. Although it does not have new songs, if not compilations of the album "The Dream of the Blue Turtles" of sting, songs of the police and some perfomances of Sting.
This album was produced by Sting himself, with the help of Kim Turner. Published on July 1, 1986. You have 13 songs, which are divided into 4 parts, composed by an enriched and cheerful jazz, with a mix of rock and new wave that Sting has already accustomed us. The disc was recorded of presentations in Paris, Rome and Arnhem, of Sting with the aid of jazz musicians Branford Marsalis, Darryl Jones, Kenny Kirkland, and Omar Hakim.
It is undoubtedly the album with the most Sting Jazz content. Its composition and mixture is very good and sophisticated. An incredible album to relax and enjoy. Although it is worth mentioning that Sting does not like to be labeled as Jazz, in this album you feel the essence, thanks to the good touches of Branford Marsalis.
Track listing:
All songs are by Sting, except "Down So Long", composed by Alex Atkins and J. B. Lenoir.
As mentioned earlier, the disc is divided into 4 sides. The last one is without a doubt my favorite.
