My recommendations: Post-rock
In this occasion I come to recommend some bands of "Post-rock". Label used by Simon Reynolds in 1994 to describe:
"The sound of some rock bands that use rock instruments, but incorporating rhythms, harmonies, melodies, timbres and harmonic progressions that are not within the tradition of the genre."
Among the features we have, as mentioned before, the use of common instruments in rock bands (Drums, Guitar, Bass, Keyboard) but with a very different musical structure. The bands of Post Rock, offer us instrumental compositions of long duration, lacking riffs and refrains. They delight us with a range of experimental, changing and progressive sounds that evolve throughout the songs, which can vary greatly from one moment to another, from a calm and harmonious sound to a more intense and epic one. The post rock, also incorporates other genres such as progressive rock, krautrock, experimental music and electronic music.
In its majority it is totally instrumental, from time to time some that another band extracts one or two subjects with clean voices, but it is not very usual. On the other hand, there are bands like the Icelandic Sigur Rus, who created their own language (hopelandic), but not to sing in the traditional way, if not to use the voices, so that they fit with the harmony of the songs and work as another musical instrument
Some will believe that because it is instrumental, it can seem monotonous and easily boring. But you will see rock, from another point of view, with harmonies and melodies that will take you to a sound landscape where every sound is relevant and every moment is emotional, I recommend it to study, relax, for a long solo trip, to walk , for those moments where you need to reflect, since the sound of these bands resembles the soundtracks of a movie.
My favorite bands:
Explosions in the Sky (U.S)

What a great post. I grew up with Rock and Roll, and never even knew that music had a name. Just thought of it as 'after rock'.
Thanks for exposing me to a whole new genre to explore.
