My song of the week

in #music5 years ago

A dad wanted the best for his daughter. According to him, a musician isn't good for her because of his lifestyle. They drink, womanize and do all sort of things that will be displeasing to her. He actually wanted her to marry someone else. The lady wanted to please her dad, but love finally conquered. Well, the song didn't really narrate it this way, the music video did. The music is just a love song; a guy professing his love to a lady. It's for every guy out there that have someone they can't stop thinking about. Majesty is the title and it was released by Peruzzi, a Nigerian musician.

Wanne, if u see the mermaid, her royal majesty
Pikin wey fine like dis
Suppose dey with me
I say Wanne, if u see the mermaid, her royal majesty
Pikin wey fine like dis
E suppose dey with me.

It's in pidgin, but with a little explanation, you should get the message. Wanne is a way of calling out someone; like Hey, Yo, or any word you can use to get the attention of someone. Pikin means child. I guess other words is explanatory. He was just saying the lady is very beautiful and she should be his. The lyrics is simple, but you need to listen to it in the song. It is melediuous - it's the part I love most. It's the chorus.

It also explains the little acting in the music video - the daughter and dad saga. The lady loves him, too and the guy made some sweet promises in the song that will make most ladies go gaga (crazy). Yes, I used most because not all fall for sweet words. Anyway, it was nice singing along.

I promise to kiss you before you wake up
Love you without the makeup.
Baby don't break up
I touch down before the take off
Luckily for me you know my B
They say I take you personal, I no fit disagree
Omo na confam thing if u check am
True talk I no dey run scam
Control for my area
So I for like give you your own crown
Luckily for me you know my B
They say I take you personal, I no fit disagree.

I won't be dropping more lyrics. I want you to listen and confirm how dope it is yourself. This is another part I love in the song, the promises. I guess it's pretty explanatory, too. Some of the words are in Pidgin English, but it can be easily understood. I no dey run Scam simply means I am not a scammer; my love is real, not a scam. There are lots of ryhmes in the lyrics too which made everything sync perfectly. It's one of the biggest jahm in Nigeria right now and I couldn't stop listening to it throughout last week plus today.

We will meet next week for another song, but before then, enjoy Majesty by Peruzzi.
