Big Reishi Mushroom Find
I paddled my kayak out on our pond to tie a rope onto a fallen willow tree that was lying out in the water so my husband could pull it out with the tractor. Much to my surprise when I got out there I saw reishi mushrooms growing all over the base of it and the tree standing next to it. I was so excited! They were positively identified by someone on my mushroom Facebook group as ganoderma. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/![IMG_1900.JPG]

It benefits the immune system and reduces inflammation and helps your body to fight many serious illnesses like cancer. Here is a brief article about the benefits. https://selfhacked.com/blog/reishi/
Now I have to look into how to use them.
Thanks for stopping by!
I was just having a discussion with another Steemian about Reishi mushrooms, I'll have to link you to what they said.

Cool! Thanks!
Nice find!
When picking perennial polypores I always leave two or three behind for them to release spores and keep spreading.
Some polypore fruiting bodies are years older and will keep releasing spores over time as long as they have enough food from the wood they're growing on.
I left a lot behind. Some we're very worm eaten.
