Spring mushrooms in the forest - Morchella.

Morchella mushrooms grow almost all spring. They are very diverse. Here are a few photos of one variety of Morchella fungus.

They bear resemblance to Morel mushrooms, although I don't think I would eat this Morchella. The black cap looks ominous.

In fact, they are harmless and very tasty. But they need a lot. They are very watery and after cooking become small.

nice variety of mushroom pics!

Lovely photography with lots of detail. I have never seen this variety before. Always nice to discover something new when out exploring.
