Shiitake Mushroom Log Update
8 Months of waiting patiently has gotten us to this point. The mycelium is finally beginning to fully engulf the log and I can only imagine it will begin to pop som fruiting bodies soon!
Perhaps another long month before any mushrooms grow.. if they do at all! I pray to see some results from February’s work.
I just added to the mushroom log production here at the homestead by 15 fold.. so here’s to seeing first results!

We're hoping to start mushrooms here as well. We found Pink Oyster Mushroom which I guess can taste like bacon or unsmoked ham to some who fry it... haven't tried it, but I wanna!
That is very intersting. I actually also inoculated some logs this past weekend with oyster mushroom dowels.. I also wanna try! Lol
