Panzerkampfwagen III (medium tank)

The reductions of the Versailles Treaty determined that the German "Reichswehr" was not allowed to build up a tank force.

Therefore any tests or trials with vehicles of this kind had to be carried out under strictest secrecy. Under the camouflage term "light tractor" they were dismantled, stowed into containers and shipped to the Soviet Union. All trials were run at Kama near Kazan. The German Industry has gained o lot of experience and knowledge from that. After the takeover by Hitler these tanks went into series production.

Year: 1941
Power: 300 HP
Engine: 12 cylinder Maybach
Crew: 5 (commander, gunner, loader, driver, radio operator/bow machine-gunner)
Maximum speed: 40 km/h
