EL TRICEPS BRAQUIAL
Es un músculo ubicado en la parte posterior del brazo, tiene 3 cabezas llamados vastos; Vasto interno, Vasto medio y vasto externo y ocupa prácticamente toda la parte posterior del brazo menos un húmero menos un pequeño segmento.
En cuanto a su origen, El vasto medio se origina en el tubérculo infraglenoideo de la escápula; El externo en la cara posterior del 1/3 superior del húmero, a lo largo del borde externo; y el interno en el borde interno de la cara posterior de los 2/3 inferiores del húmero.
Si hablamos de su inserción, los tres se unen en un tendón común ancho y plano que termina en la cara superior del olecranón (El codo).
Tiene función de extensión, aducción y rotación interna y su posición de máxima eficacia se da en una semipronosupinación con unos 20 o 30% de flexión.
