You Though Muscle Cars Were Fast?
By all measures, some cars of today that are affordable and within reach of most of us pack a real punch. I went back to a 1967 Motor Trend test issue (I still have it!) and pulled out a 2017 Motor Trend comparison test of some hot new cars of today. The results will amaze you as seen in my recent blog post on carcamerastory.com.

It is totally night and day as for the cars of then and now. I can recall driving an older GTO and taking a turn hard it felt like the car was going to flip over. Shame most older cars are solely built for straight lines.
Back then we measured everything by 0-60 and 1/4 mile times. Handling was for those fancy foreign cars. Friday night at the local Dairy Queen was run what you brung night. We'd even put slicks on in the parking lot, then head out of town for dragstrip style challenges. Wonder we didn't kill ourselves with the horrible brakes on those cars! We avoided any roads with corners.
