The tragic murder case of Vina and her lover, Eky or Rizky, occurred in Cirebon in 2016. Initially, this case was considered an accident.

The case turned into a murder case after the family reported it to the police because of the confession of a friend of Vina's named Linda. Linda is suspected of being possessed by Vina's spirit and explained the detailed chronology of her friend's death to the family.

Hearing Linda's confession, the family realized that there was something strange behind their daughter's death. The reason is, Vina's cellphone and vehicle were not destroyed, even though Vina was said to have had a serious accident.

This further encouraged the family to pursue this case. At the same time, the video of Linda being possessed went viral on social media. This made many netizens urge the police to investigate the case.

After the report was made, the police immediately opened an investigation. They discovered that Vina's death was not an ordinary accident.

The beating case occurred on August 27 2016, early in the morning, on Jalan Perjuangan in front of SMP 11 Kali Tanjung Cirebon. Eky and Vina's bodies were then found on August 28 2016 in the morning.

The murder and rape case was then handled by the Cirebon City Police. After going through a series of investigations, 11 members of the motorcycle gang were named as suspects in the case.

In May 2017, the court sentenced seven perpetrators to life imprisonment, namely Jaya (23), Supriyanto (20), Eka Sandi (24), Hadi Saputra (23), Eko Ramadani (27), Sudirman (21), and Rivaldi Aditya Wardana (21).

Another perpetrator, namely Saka Tatal, received an eight year prison sentence because he was still in the age group. Unfortunately, three suspects, including Egi alias Perong, are still at large.

Egi is suspected of being the mastermind behind Vina and Eky's murder. According to the police, Egi's motive for planning the murder was because he fell in love with Vina.

Vina rejects Egi's love because she is already with Eky, who is also Egi's friend. Currently, Egi is still being hunted by the police.

The West Java Regional Police dismissed reports that Egi was being hidden by the police. They also asked the public to participate in searching for the three fugitive perpetrators so that this case can be resolved.

"Our appeal is, if fellow community members find out, please inform us so that we can process it, we will reveal this case," said Head of Public Relations of the West Java (West Java) Regional Police, Commissioner Jules Abraham Abast, Tuesday (14/5/2024 ).
