The Entry
This is my entry for round five of the mundane as art contest hosted by @kus-knee
I found the nicest looking stones lying around the house as props for the photograph. The photo was taken using a OnePlus 3 smartphone. The illumination comes from a torch held directly above. It took me a few tries, frantically trying to get the angle right before the self timer on the camera went off. In the end I was happy with this result. The final touch was increasing the saturation just a little to bring the colour out.
The Cuts
There were a few other photographs I felt turned out pretty well, so I'm adding them to this post in this section.
This photo was taken with the same phone, this time using the torchlight to light a stone mosaic wall. I loved the texture in the photo but wasn't sure if it conveyed the theme enough.

Yes, I had a lot of fun. It was interesting trying to be creative with a phone, a torch and some stones. I love how your contests encourage people to think differently. Loving other peoples entries too. Thank you for hosting us!
Beautiful photos! I noticed your from Kodaikanal... when I was in India I stayed there for awhile and it was by far one of my favourite places in India. Lived out at Kuruna farm. Have you been out there I’m sure you have it’s amazing.
Hello. Thank you for comment! I've visited Karuna Farms a couple of times. Had some good times out by the rock. Where I'm at is further away though, near a village called Poombarai. I'm still sort of transitioning into Kodaikanal as I still had to come back to the city to earn money to pay the bills. I've been setting up to live a sustainable off grid life there this past year, and hope to be there full time next year.
Awesome that’s really cool we loved it there my husband and I went for our honeymoon it was a lot of fun. I’m trying to remember the name of the phone we lived in I will have to ask him. I think all the time Thats one place I would love to live 6months out of the year. I was just getting there by bus that was instense. The bus rides up the side of the mountain 😳🤣

Thank you! I wasn't sure if the flowers were overpowering the stones. In the end, I went with a subtler option that conveyed the theme.
