Mundane as Art — Round 5 — stones
to paint from nature is to realize one's sensations,
not to copy what is before one
~ J.E.H. MacDonald
This photo is my entry to the Mundane as Art contest. The photo was taken along the shoreline of a small river lined with some of the most colorful stones I have ever seen (the dead fish is an extra — it adds to the ambience!)
Very nice and I agree about the fish!
It's too bad the fish wasn't a rock bass. :)
Now THAT is funny right there!!!!! 5 star funny!
I do my best :) On a scale of 1-10 it's finny !
I do love the colors in this shot, and how the stones seem to create a bridge from water to earth.. great photo! :)
Thanks @tinajordan. You're right it does look like a bridge. Thanks for your nice comment!
These stones have really interesting colors, wow!!!
They do don't they!! They remind me of this rock bubble gum my kids used to buy..... Thanks @silviabeneforti.
I remember eating a similar rock chocolate when I was a kid. These really do resemble candy. Or the other way around I mean ☺
beautiful -love coloured river stones :) beauty in the familiar
Yes they were beautiful in person. You should go there some time.
Perhaps the poor fish was trying to get to the water on the other side of the stone bridge?
ah....you have a positive attitude....it's a salmon and as you know when they swim upstream to do their thing they die....it's a sad part of the circle of life. There were so many carcasses along the river....so many. I actually felt grieved. The stones were crying out which is why they were so colorful.?? sigh

I have you to thank for the idea. I didn't know about this one until I read it on your blog. :) Thanks for saying it's good.
