Mumbai Rains

Heavy rains along with thunder and lightning lashed the Mumbai this afternoon, slowing down movement of traffic and local trains, and bringing back memories of torrential downpour late last month when the financial capital of Mumbai came to a standstill.

Visibility dropped below 550 metres due to the rain, runway operations at the Mumbai airport were suspended for a brief period during which some flights were diverted to nearby airports.

Fortunately the train I was traveling was only ten minutes late, but it took me around 30 minutes from station to home with around 8 inch water on the road.
