A Multi-Planet System Has Been Discovered Entirely Through Crowdsourcing

Through a venture called Exoplanet Explorers, a band of resident researchers has found K2-138, a far away planetary framework that houses slightest five exoplanets.

This is the first occasion when that a multi-planet framework has been found completely through crowdsourcing.

UC Santa Cruz cosmologist Ian Crossfield and Caltech staff researcher Jessie Christiansen propelled the Exoplanet Explorers venture on the online stage Zooniverse in 2017.

The undertaking enables volunteers to filter through information from NASA's Kepler space telescope for indications of exoplanets.
