Muhammad Awi, Pioneer of Unemployment from Pidie
Starting from a difficult life while in Banda Aceh, Muhammad Awi, a young man from Gampong Pukat, Garot, Pidie, Faculty of Forestry students tried his fortune to be monitored by working odd jobs. Awi had become a barber to fulfill his life and studies.
After graduating, Awi then returned to Sigli. Here the man who was born 42 years ago then joined the CPNS testing and unexpectedly he graduated and was appointed as a civil servant while still in the Pidie District Forest Service environment.
But it turned out that working in the government did not stop Awi there. His character who doesn't like to keep quiet and hopes his monthly salary makes his mind spin hard. Moreover, many residents of his hometown have the status of acute unemployment.
Muhammad ventured to borrow Rp. 500 thousand from his brother. Awi tried his luck by opening a tree nursery, a world that was still laid for him. A land area of only 400 m2 becomes its profit. The land was filled with bananas in their hometown and then cleaned. Some residents even mocked and insulted themselves like crazy.
Amazingly Awi did not care about the cynicism of people who saw him behaving strangely. He continued to prepare several ground beds for tree nurseries in polybags, the money owed here and there. Some young men were invited to help fill the soil and seeds in plastic polybags. Until finally thousands of tree seedlings are worked on.
Without warning, several people and companies contacted him one by one to buy tree seeds. From time to time, orders for large portions of seeds will continue to soar, making it hard to provide stock. Until Awi recruited young people and mothers from Kampung Pukat as his employees. Until now, Flora Nursery, the name of the company Muhammad Awi already has more than 100 employees. for the size of the business built by a villager, 100 employees who are paid regularly are something extraordinary.
Flora Nursery employees have rotated alternately when there are loading seeds in the truck and sent to the buyer. Some of their employees are paid daily and also monthly, according to the portion of work and the level of difficulty that Muhammad Isa (36) (in a white t-shirt while holding a train) is one of the successful portraits of Muhammad Awi's efforts to build his business world while alleviating unemployment. Isa departed from the needy-poor and orphans who initially only jobless. No work is still in the process of releasing the Bambi Islamic Refuge Orphanage, Peukan Baro Sub-District, Pidie District, and his days are spent working odd jobs. Sometimes, Isa, this smiley young man calls at one time worked as an electronic mechanic. On the other day, Isa worked as a very low and erratic motorcycle mechanic.
But, his life changed when he tried his luck at Muhammad Awi's tree nursery. Flora Nursery, which is engaged in the nursery all kinds of hard and soft trees has changed the life of Muhammad Isa. The system of working at Flora Nursery is flexible, friendly and has a competition system (whoever diligently gets a lot of bonuses) has anchored Isa to continue to stand alone at Flora Nursery.
Isa included Flora Nursery employees who were in the 'hardworking' class, diligent and tenacious. From the results of his efforts, he was gradually able to save money from the work at Flora Nursery. Isa used to walk everywhere, now Isa was able to buy two-wheeled vehicles from the salaries at Flora Nursery. Jesus' life has now changed dramatically from poor to prosperous.
"I like to work here because the leader here treats us (workers) like his own family," said Isa sheepishly to Halim El Bambi / Milah Yabmob from www.lookage.id.
Isa, one of the dozens of other Flora Nursery employees recruited by Flora Nursery from surrounding villagers, was one of Flora Nursery's breakthroughs led by Muhammad Awi who committed to reducing unemployment in Pidie. The principle of the company implemented by Flora Nursery "spreading seeds while spreading goodness" is one of the models that inspired many groups.
Flora Nursery is now known as a company that has channeled millions of seeds from all kinds of trees not only for business oriented but also involved in green-based greening programs.
Muhammad Awi did not even hesitate to donate thousands of tree seedlings to be planted free of charge for a number of NGOs / NGOs, personal, educational institutions both schools and Islamic boarding schools.
"In my business, I have the principle that we are not only looking for profit but also we have to care for nature. Moreover, the current nature of Aceh in the position needs attention from all parties for reforestation," Awi said. | Halim El Bambi
