Never give Satan a Beachhead.

Would you, if the enemy knocked on your door, knowing that he came to steal from you, destroy and kill you, open the door? This is exactly what we are doing when we go against God's will - and indulge in sin. The word sin has gotten a bad rap in people focused on self gratifcation. They call it freedom. But is it?

Real freedom means being free of sin - and the desire to sin. Being entagled in sinful behavior means being held hostage by the desire to give into that behabior. Stealing, lying, drug use, cheating on ones betrothed, gossiping, harming others out of greed - even carelssness - the list is laid out in Galations 5:16-26.

What if Satan goes to Church?

Sometimes, he is even running them. Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer is his motto.
Satan is cunning. And he knows warfare, as a highly decorated general does. His plots are deceiving. Christians are lured into false security, made to feel good about themselves, Sunday apperances in church, even charity work.

• Jesus cast demons out in synagogues Mark 1:21-28 and Luke 4:31-37
• The enemy was found in the midst of the body of Christ: Acts 5
• In the pulpit, where false teachers mislead their sheep. 2 Cor 11:15.

During this segment, we learn to discern, especially what is happening among believers.

In our previous three episodes on spiritual warfare, we investigated Satan's characteristics as the adversary of God and humanity, his trademark as the father of lies, as the deceiver, and his purpose role as the destroyer, the ruler and the accuser!

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Don't be caugt off-guard by the enemy. Equip yourself. Be pepared.
