This is a Minnowsupport application for my #STEEMSKATE bi-weekly Steemit skateboarding contest/community building project !

Skateboarders are pioneers of social media. They are masters of content marketing. Skate companies were doing "content marketing" before it was called that. Instagram blew up because of skateboarders. People bought iPhones just to have Instagram to connect with their skate homies.

We need to do this with Steemit. Think of Steemit as a planet that a bunch of humans landed on and are starting a society from scratch. We need to pioneer Skateboarding here on Steemit.

Steemit can Revolutionize Skateboarding if we all band together and work towards building a super strong skate community. Skate communities are the most tightly knit communities of any kind, so there is no reason it would not work that way here.

What I am proposing is to have a weekly or bi-weekly Steemit skatevideo events.

Do you think we could do that with Skateboarding here on Steemit?

We could have the contests be called the name of a trick that everyone has to go out and do, and the winner gets the prize. We could start the prize out at 1 SBD and then increase it by +1 SBD every week.

So like the first week will be "KICKFLIP" where everyone has to go out and film a kickflip and the best kickflip wins.

Maybe the next week is "<1:00 min edit" where you just make a cool edit. or "FRONTSIDE GRIND" or something like that.

I have started WEEK 1 and have received AWESOME ideas from the existing skate community on Steemit for how to build the contest as the weeks go by!

Skateboarders of all ages will be able to come together and participate in supporting each other do what the love!

And look at this comment, someone is willing to sponsor the contests already by donating product that can be given away to winners!

This means so much to all the skateboarders on Steemit, and the many more that are sure to come once they find out that we can create a self supporting ecosystem of skaters and use our already tight-knit community that skateboarding provides to bring TONS of life to the Steemit Platform and crytpo-currencies as a whole!

STEEMSKATE will be the beginning of a whole slew of sports and talent-related recreational activities that will come to Steemit to form lucrative communities. These subcultures on Steemit are starting to blossom already look at @luzcypher's OPEN MIC events, making over a hundred dollars a post, with the artists making more on Steemit then they have ever made at a real open mic!

STEEMSKATE is going to forge many new friendships all across the earth! Skateboarders are really good at making friends because when two people skate, they are already friends, and since Kindness rules on Steemit where Money talks, People's lives are going to change when they discover what is possible.

Look at @nicolcron's and @stickchumpion's STEEMSKATE meetup! Quite possibly the first time in history of the Earth that two skateboarders who met through Steemit got together to shred in the winter!
