I wanted to find a higher occurrence of 33 in news articles. Unfortunately I drew a blank here...

@fakenewsreport made a great point about this. Just the fact that the number itself has no higher occurrence does not mean that it is not used to a higher extend in specific stories. There might very well be a there there :)
