New Delhi: Mahendra Singh Dhoni, a man with fewer words, but greater abilities. People have known him for his lightning-quick wicketkeeping abilities and his prowess with the willow, which of late has been much of a debatable topic. But what fans have rarely witnessed his bowling ability. Yes, Dhoni can bowl and can swing the white ball in and out to deceive the man at the crease. But generally, he has been spotted doing the same in training sessions. One such moment was on Saturday.
BCCI took to its official Twitter handle to share a video of Dhoni bowling swingers to Axar Patel. The slow-motion effect at the start of the video did bring out a flaw in his bowling – it was a No Ball. But the batsman was surely left in a fix as his deliveries happened to beat Axar on all ends. The left-hander could face just one delivery, the rest two zipped past his bat. (READ: India vs Sri Lanka, 1st ODI: Ajinkya Rahane's form a worry as hosts aim another clean sweep over visitors)
This is definitely not the first time that BCCI posted such a video. Earlier, prior to the Indore ODI against Australia in September, Dhoni was spotted accompanying Kuldeep Yadav in bowling leg-spin deliveries to batsmen during practice sessions.
After a brief break from international cricket, the Ranchi legend is back as India gears up to face the Lankan Lions in a three-match ODI series starting December 10 at Dharamsala. The second match is at Mohali on December 13 and the last ODI is at Vishakhapatnam on December 17.
