MY THOUGHTS ON MPESA IN KENYA NOT BEING DECENTRALIZED

When the idea of decentralized currency emerged ,i started figuring out that maybe Mpesa money transfer service is a pioneer in using the idea of decentraliztion .This was because of it using agents across the country to offer the services but i was very wrong.
I discovered that mpesa was far much from making use of this new technology.Tobegin with ,transactions with it is not public unlike transaction done with cryptocurrency e.g Bitcoin.Also Mpesa is regulated by central bank and hence its economic fate is on hands of the government.The operation of mpesa is only in East africa and that means if i am in a country like New zealand , i will be limited in sending any money, hence this service is geographically limited but i like the service because it is very efficient in my country because if i need bitcoins i will buy them on localbitcoins.com with mpesa.
Another reason why this service is not decentralized is that it is controlled by one firm unlike cryptocurrency that is controlled by miners across the world.Therefore i will prefer to use the service locally but internationally i will prefer using decetralized currencies like bitcoin,Steem etc
