Minimalism and Moving
At the moment, I plan to leave for Ireland in late August. It is now the beginning of May, so I have a few weeks to get everything sorted out and ready to move. I have already begun to lighten the load by selling off my golf bag and dresser. I am now in the process of selling my golf clubs and a Chaps suitcase set since I won't need the whole set when going to Ireland. I decided I would only take 3 bags (check bag, carry on, and personal item). Last weekend when talking to Jason and Rachel, I got the idea to use my backpacking pack as my check bag. Originally, I planned to purchase a new duffel bag but I won't to get out and do more camping.
Along these same lines, I am now faced with the problem on ONLY three bags to move all my stuff. This lead me to an interesting idea. Only own enough clothes to last a week in the current season. Roughly four times a year I will sell/give away my current wardrobe to then restock with clothes more appropriate for the upcoming season. To make it even more interesting, I will give away the clothes in a different city than I bought them.
As mentioned, I am selling most of my stuff so that as soon as possible I will be living with only the items I will take to Ireland.
