This movie has everything: Bikers, cocaine dealers, ninjas, 80s synth music, mullets, and it does it with a straight face.

This Movie originally was critically maligned and did poorly at the box office. It was since rediscovered and re-released to become a cult hit in 2012. The good guys are a group of Taekwondo experts who are also in a band. The bad guys are cocaine dealing ninjas who ride motorcycles. It was the 80s, people added ninjas to everything!

There are subplots about a long lost father and a girlfriend whose brother is one of the bad guys and wont let her see the good guy. It's all super corny, and probably the best example of so bad its good.

The movie was financed by one of the stars, a middle aged aged Korean immigrant who barely spoke English, had never made a movie before, and had no idea what he was doing. The film only screened at a handful of theaters and was called the worst film of 1988 in one of the few reviews it got at the time.

Fast forward to 2013 where it existed as an underground hit, more talked about than actually seen. After the director was convinced to give Drafthouse films the rights It was re screened where it found its audience, it became a hit. I love it, the music is legitimately great.
