Why the Fuck Should I Watch TOTAL RECALL (1990)?

Why the fuck should you watch “Total Recall”?

• You like Arnold. You like his body, his humor, his smile and his sexy groans.

• You like to get philosophical about movies, after you’ve watched them.

• You have wondered if your boring life is just an implanted fake and you really are part of some epic action-filled corporate conspiracy.

• Memory implantation, cyberpunkish life on Mars, mutants, freaky art design, Schwarzenegger hiding inside of a woman - what else do you need?

• You want to see some weird shit that will hunt your thoughts and create some new sexual perversions.

One of my little sci-fi journeys to the past took me to Verhoven's – yes the same dude who made RoboCop and Starship Troopers – Total Recall, which is a late-1980s persons' futuristic idea of what the future looks like. A future with autonomous cars, memory implants, trips to another planets, corporate overlords, and mind-blowing mutations. The movie has also Arnold, who does same things in this movie you like to see him do: punch people, shoot people, throw people, give one-liners, and divorce

In Total Recall Arnold is a regular muscular construction worker called Doug, who lives with his blonde 1990s type of a wife (oh yes, don't even ask how women are portrayed in this). Doug is little bored with his earthly life and he decides to go on a mind trip to Mars that some fishy memory-fucking agency offers. Surprise, surprise something goes wrong and instantly everyone he knows has beef with him. This hits the “start the action” button and the freaky and violent trip to Mars may begin.

Why the fuck you shouldn’t watch “Total Recall”?

• Oldschool non-CGI visuals are too trippy for your modern mind.

Goofy and shallow plotting makes you think too much of yourself.

Macho violence only reminds you that you haven't gone to the gym for a very long time. No, really, you have let yourself go.

Haha, I like your quick and simple approach on these reviews! Btw, check out @namiks, he also makes movie reviews and has a Steemit movie Discord channel if you're interested :D

Small tip since you're fairly new here: for some reason payouts of less than about $0.02 are considered as "dust" so they won't be paid out. In practice: don't waste your vote, especially on comments that don't have more than the threshold of 2 cents.

Anyway, hope you have a good time here despite not racking up big dallahs like those whales/bidbot users overrepresented in 'Trending'.

Thanks for the feedback and recommendations! Still trying to figure out how this works, how to spread the Word of the Cinema, and hopefully how to turn those cents to dollars.

It'll be a long and rocky (lol, didn't even try to make a pun) road because the reality is that it's almost impossible to get a big recognition here starting from zero, can be done, but it takes a lot of work, and luck. But you'll certainly gather some audience when you keep doing what you like doing.

Big ups to @celestal for investigating the comments :D

Heya @thefilmcritic, when I visited your page to see what you were about, I was greatlyy amused and entertained. I like your series of; Why the f*** should I watch x movie—it's very straight to the point for anyone who may be on the fence of watching something, and you also discuss reasons a person may also not want to watch the movie as well and I think it's important to argue both sides.

I admire your bare-bones approach! I've written movie reviews in the past and there is an audience for the kind of posts you enjoy! <3

With love,
@shello
