Buffalo Boys ~ On The Fence
I can't help but appreciate the effort that was put into making this movie! The cast, settings, wardrobe, and even the story are all more than plausible. It actually had the potential for real excellence but did come off, in the end, a little bit like a spoof. It was never intended as such but it was inevitable with the music, long western stares and standoffs all tied up with a cliche power grab and revenge scenario that spans a generation.
I would say that the beauty of the set locations is the most undeniable part of this film. Indonesia is an absolutely beautiful country and I hope to visit one day!
It really is destined for an evening when the internet is down, your power is out. All of your friends and family are out of the country and there is a weather alert to stay indoors. Watching this movie to the soft purring of your generator and the howling winds outside makes perfect sense in this case.
Don't forget the popcorn made on your camp stove!
