Will New Mutants be Fox's Last X-Men Movie?

New reports claims that the Disney acquisition of Fox will be complete in March. Until that time Marvel is not allowed to do anything with the Fox properties, but after that the party at Marvel will start and it will end at Fox.

Rumors claim that all future X-Men Fox movies have been cancelled. Some of these movie are predictable choices: Gambit which has been stuck in development hell for a long time now, and Channing Tatum is no longer an exciting actor. Multiple Man movie rumored to be headed by James Franco has also been cancelled. Surprisingly it seems we will not be getting a Deadpool 3 or a X-Force movie as well. I think that the failure of Once upon a Deadpool really hurt the image of the Deadpool franchise. Remember the rumors that we are going to get Doctor Doom, Silver Surfer and Kitty Pryde movies? Those are also off the table for now. Anything that doesn't have a release date and is deep into production is cancelled according to the latest rumors and you have to admit that it makes sense.

There will be two last Fox X-Men movies. Dark Phoenix which is set to come out on June 7. According to rumors online this movie will be bad as Fantastic Four and I tend to believe these rumors considering who is working on this movie. They already destroyed the Phoenix sags once, I have no doubt that they will do it again. The New Mutants is set to come out on August 2, but is going through some serious reshoots. In fact I don't think this movie will come out in the end. Despite the fact I am excited for an X-Men horror movie, it doesn't seem to be not going well. I have a strong feeling that Dark Phoenix will be the last Fox X-Men movie and it will end an era with fans saying: thank goodness Marvel will be taking over now.

Marvel already announced that they have unspecified plans for X-Men movies and now the new rumor is that they will also have X-Men TV shows for the Disney+ streaming service. I don't know what it means for shows like The Gifted and Legion, but they will probably be cancelled as well. It will be interesting to see how mutants will fit into the MCU, even when it comes to the feel of characters and world around them. Although now it might work better in the post Accords MCU. I hope that Marvel won't fail us and the mutants will return to be the inspiration that they once were. Still, it appears that a movie era is coming to an end with the end of Fox and it does make me a bit sad.
