Hooray Another Crappy X-Men Movie

in #movies6 years ago (edited)

Blah, I'm not excited about this. I hate this franchise and am glad this will be the last one. Hopefully when the X -Men are re-integrated into the current MCU (if that happens) they will get better treatment than they have of late. Same old crap with Xavier making a huge mistake that almost costs everything and Magneto going back and forth from good to evil. It has been so overplayed. At least Michael Fassbender is a cool Magneto. But didn't he just kill millions of people in the last movie (X-Men Apocalypse)? No major characters though, so I guess it's all good? I actually didn't even finish it, it was so bad, but I read the plot.

I love the Dark Phoenix Saga, but I really doubt they get in any better than the first try. (X-Men Last Stand) I don't like Sansa Stark as Jean Grey, I think the portrayal is terrible. I think Famke Janssen was the perfect Jean Grey. And I've never been able to buy Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique either. I liked the original run, for all its problems, and wish they would have given us one more with that cast before going to this screwy reboot. What do you think, are you looking forward to this movie at all?

Famke Janssen is the Superior Jean Grey (in my opinion!)

All within subjective space...

I agree with you on the first cast being more appropriate than the choices for the latter three entries, but I much prefer story, sound, directing and overall take on the X-men for the later three - by a huge margin.Yet, I do like X2, the second cinematic entry, only second to First Class.

Now I believe, all the stories are entwined, there is no reboot, but a somewhat complex tapestry of events. At least that's how I see it. The Days of Future Past entry seemed to wipe The Last Stand from ever happening, which to me was vindicating, since I find The Last Stand to be garbage.

The new movie neither garners my hype nor any negative expectations and i hope it subverts said expectations.

X2 was great! I liked Days of Future Past for Bishop and Kitty Pride.
