Wonder Woman Director Drops Bombshell About Sequel
While speaking with Entertainment Tonight (yes that show still exists), Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins dropped a huge bombshell on fans of not only her franchise, but comic book movie fans in general.
She said, "We’re actually making a totally different film with a lot of the same, similar like things that we love, but it’s its own movie completely"
What?!
That is absurd!
In general, aren't sequels the exact same thing as their predecessors in every way except the title? Do you mean to tell me it is going to have a different story with different plot elements?
That is unheard of!
Does that mean that each time It's a Wonderful Life is aired it is not a sequel to the previous time it was aired?
Shocking!
I thought Jimmy Stewart was brought back 4 billion times in order to keep making "sequels" to the holiday favorite.
Thanks Patty for ruining my long held beliefs about sequels.
By the way, one sure fire sign that a movie is not going to be fresh and different from the original is when the director has to flat out say that it is "a totally different film". Most of the time, that is assumed.
