One of the more under-exposed Terry Gilliam films. Great simple review (or movie analysis?) by The New York Times. Watch out for those walls at the end of the clip.

Great review! It's been a long time since I saw that movie. :)

I tend to like a lot of movies that came out of 1985.. somehow. Always considered this to be the avant garde expression of dystopia. It's also kinda funny watching the Ministry of Information crumbling down just because of a house-fly :)

One of my favorite films. Got to watch it again!

Wow, the review got (some of) the memories back. Must have seen this one in the 80s or early 90s. Its will be actioned again to watch this movie again. Great share.

Rewatched recently - still great :)

What a film. I highly recommend it.

Maybe the sudden rise of the walls at the end represents Brasília and bureaucracy:

''From the beginning, the growth of Brasília was greater than original estimates. According to the original plans, Brasília would be a city for government authorities and staff. However, during the construction period, Brazilians from all over the country migrated to Brasília, seeking public and private jobs.

At the close of the 20th century, Brasília held the distinction of being the largest city in the world which had not existed at the beginning of the century. Brasília has one of the highest population growth rates in Brazil, with annual growth of 2.82%, mostly due to internal migration.''
