The French Connection (1971)

Maw says…. This story is about a big heroin bust. A famous French actor is the main guy who plans on bringing 32 million dollars’ worth of heroin hidden in a bumper of a car back to New York with him. Gene Hackman is going to make sure he doesn’t, even if he dies stopping him. This won five Oscars and I can see why. I’m not a big shoot them up bang-bang person but this was so true to life what cops must go through.

Paw says…. This probably was considered the quintessential cop and robber movie. This was my first time seeing this movie and I do recommend it. I just loved the old cars and the music. The sheriff from the Jaws movie was one of the cops and I even heard something very similar to the jaws classic sound effects. My favorite line in the movie which I don’t think I ever heard was, “are you still picking your feet in Poughkeepsie?”
