The Mummy

A Slightly newer Indiana Jones.

The special effects do really make this film, along with some of the other visuals like Patricia Velazquez wearing only paint for example. The scenery of Egypt with some comic relief and good action do all combine quite well.

The characters seem to work together and the movie is fast paced, it doesn't quite feel like a two hour movie. All in all it is a fun and enjoyable film with a fair amount of action and the good guys winning of course.

In this film we have an English librarian (Evelyn) that has always been interested in Egypt since an early age. She wants to start a dig of her own and manages to secure a guide (Rick) after saving his life. There is of course another group also interested in digging in the same spot.

The Americans manage to unleash the curse of the mummy priest Imhotep, Imhotep was curse due to killing the Pharaoh after he discovered his priest having an affair with his mistress.

Because of the curse the mummy cannot be killed by any conventional means, so now the race is one to stop him before he regains his full powers and takes over the world.
