Drunken Master

One of the earlier Jackie Chan films.

This film shows some of comic style that Jackie would later refine and make his own. He wasn't quite there in this film so it is more of a serious/traditional style of martial arts film. Irregardless still a top martial arts film, and one that helped to cement Jackie as a major movie star.



Here we have a young Jackie Chan playing a very talented kung-fu student, although somewhat disobedient and lacking some discipline. He is therefore sent off to his uncle in order to be taught.

His uncle is the master of the Drunken style of kung-fu, and does not tolerate any disobedience whatsoever, period, end of discussion. This hard line is very much of a shock to the young student. Jackie does however learn this style of kung-fu quite masterfully.

After a period of time has passed Jackie's character learns that his father has been targeted by assassins. Hence Jackie returns to save his father from them. Will his newly taught skills be enough to defeat the assassins and save his father?

Simply put if you like martial arts movies or Jackie Chan, you need to watch this movie.
